 lets learn The Indian Penal code  It is about defamation, in India defamation is both a civil and criminal offence. section 499 defines what is defamation while section 500 of the Indian Penal code lays the punishment for  people convicted of criminally defaming a person section 499 states that any word spoken, read, gestured with the intension of harming the person's reputation is to be considered defamation and attract legal punishments. section 500 states that a person found guilty of this  crime "shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to 2 years or with fine or with both" under 509 of the IPC, obscene gestures, indecent body language and negative comments directed at any women or girl or exhibiting object which intrudes upon the privacy of a women, carries a penalty of imprisonment for one year or a fine or both.
