Lets Talk about Acne

Let’s Talk About Acne (And Why It’s Not Always PCOS!)

Hello, beautiful souls! ๐ŸŒผ

I’m Dr. Subha, an Ayurvedic doctor and a deep believer in the mind-body connection. Today, I want to have an honest, heart-to-skin conversation with you.๐Ÿคž

Let’s begin with a common scene…✨

๐ŸชžYou look in the mirror.

A pimple. A few more.

And instantly, someone says —

 “Looks like you’ve got PCOS.”

But wait… really?.....

Is every acne a PCOS alarm?

Let me tell you the truth — NO. And I’m here to explain why, gently and clearly.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Let’s Make This a Two-Way Talk — Answer This in Your Mind:

Do you get acne when you're stressed?

Do your breakouts worsen when you skip sleep?

Do you eat irregularly or binge on processed food sometimes?

Are you applying too many products in the name of “glow”?

If any of these got a silent "yes" — you’re already seeing where this is going.

๐Ÿ’ก Every Acne Has a Story. Let Me Decode a Few For You:

๐ŸŒฟ 1. The Stress-Triggered Acne

You might be handling so much — emotions, work, expectations.

Your brain releases cortisol — your stress hormone.

This increases oil production. That oil clogs your pores. And boom — acne.

It’s not PCOS. It’s emotional overload.

๐Ÿง˜‍♀️ Subha’s Tip:

Practice 10 mins of alternate nostril breathing daily. Your skin will thank you.

๐Ÿ”ฅ 2. The Agni (Digestive Fire) Story

In Ayurveda, poor digestion creates Ama (toxins). These toxins find the skin as their exit point.

Especially if you're having:

Fried food

Late-night dinners

Skipping meals

And again — not PCOS. Just your gut sending signals.

๐Ÿต Subha’s Tip:

Try warm jeera water post meals. It gently stokes your Agni.

๐ŸŒ™ 3. The Sleep-Deprived Acne

You sleep at 2 AM scrolling through Instagram?

Your hormones are like: “What are we even doing now?”

Melatonin, insulin, cortisol — all go out of sync.

๐Ÿ’ค Subha’s Tip:

Fix your circadian rhythm. Be in bed by 10:30 PM. It’s free therapy for your skin.

๐Ÿงด 4. The Skincare Confusion Story

Sometimes, it’s just your product — too harsh, wrong pH, or layered too much.

Acne then is a reaction, not a diagnosis.

๐Ÿงผ Subha’s Tip:

Use minimal, natural products. Think less layering, more listening

๐Ÿ“But Yes, Sometimes It Is PCOS...

Let’s not deny it — PCOS can cause acne.

But with clear signs like:

Irregular periods

Facial hair growth

Weight gain

Hair thinning on scalp

Mood swings

If you have these, get a proper hormonal assessment — not a Google diagnosis, not a cousin’s guess.

PCOS is a deep-rooted condition. But remember, it’s manageable. And you’re not alone.

๐ŸŽฏ The Real Message?

Please don’t label every acne as PCOS.

Let’s stop creating fear-based stories around skin.

Let’s start asking:

“What is this acne teaching me about my body, my emotions, my choices?”

Because skin is not superficial — it’s expressive

๐Ÿ’ฌ Let’s End With a Little Check-In (You Can DM Me Your Answers Too!):

1. What pattern do you see in your breakouts?

2. Do you feel connected to your body’s rhythm?

3. Are you punishing your skin or supporting it?

Let’s rewrite your skin story — one dot at a time, with understanding, not assumptions.

With healing love,

Dr. Subha ๐ŸŒธ
